I guess you can make a branch that contains the .net 2.0 code , just in
case

In the rest i guess you can move to 3.5 even mono should work ok

In mono the latest stable compiler seems to be 4.0 , if there re no new
features used from 5
then i guess you should go with it

The releses should be done more often we live in the fast release cycle age
(ffx, chrome , ubuntu...)

ps: i would like also the Firebird server be released more often per year :
2 minor point releases at least
