you can use isql from unixodbc I have installed it on ubuntu linux so it should be possible to work on macosx too http://www.firebirdnews.org/?p=1324 also you can use the command line utility from firebird and that is called the same isql but is more powerful , it doesn't need odbc http://www.firebirdsql.org/manual/isql.html
