I recently purchased new top of the line hardware to host a new Firebird
server on Windows 2012 server utilizing Hyper-V.

After building the hardware and OS I installed Firebird 2.5.2 64 bit and
installed the classic version. I ran some tests and the a simple test caused
the Firebird process to peg at 100% for 10-20 minutes, until terminated the
connection. This is a simple query of a few thousand records.

After running multiple performance tests, I could not see anything wrong with
the hardware.

So, after reading through this forum and finding nothing, I decided to install
Windows 2008 R2 and try again. After doing so, everything ran perfectly, my
database performance was wonderful.

Is there some magic to Windows Server 2012 that breaks Firebird? I found the
caching info, but nothing that was helpful nor that worked.

I will have to move to 2012 at some point so I would really like to know what
I can do to make this work.
