Questions about Jaybird should go to the Firebird-java mailinglist. However to answer your question: you have forgotten one step. You need to downgrade the WireCrypt setting from its default Required to Enabled. When talking about the the driver it is Jaybird 2.2.x (which supports JDBC 4.0 - 4.2). Mark
