Hmm the "interpreter /lib/ld-" part is wrong, which is why you can't run the binary. It should say ld-linux.so.2.

I downloaded the tarball from firebirdsql.org and it looked OK so I don't know what happened.

I have built a package of Firebird 2.5.8 for Debian 9/10. I prefer to run from packages than installing software directly like this.

Can I use it?

I don't have a public repository but I can share it privately if you email me off-list.
