OK, on http://www.w3schools.com/php/php_ajax_xmlhttprequest.asp, it is
also recommended to first check for
Mozilla etc. and THEN for IE.

I'll contact the author of tw-sack.js again.

Still... what is meant by "Components"? And why does this error only
happen occasionally?
