These two bugs talk about firebug closing when you change the url in the current tab. A comment to 1608 said it this is working as designed and that any discussion should be here. I couldn't find any old discussion so I'm starting a new one. If one already exists, please direct me there.
I think that firebug should stay open in the tab, no matter how you navigate. Especially if it is on the same domain. The changes to how firebug is activated makes it very important now for firebug to be open. If I'm testing one page and have firebug open and then go to another page that fires off ajax requests in the very beginning (and I want to see them), I have to reopen firebug (as it was closed when I changed pages) and then refresh the page (as firebug was deactivated when the ajax requests were fired and so they won't show up in the console). This can not work when the second page is a POST request. This appears to also be linked to bug 1618, where the javascript is manipulating the # in the url (for AJAX navigation). So I would recommend that if firebug has been opened in a tab, it stays open in that tab until the user closes it. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Firebug" group.
