Hi there I use prototype.js as an XHR library, and I'm not sure whose bug this is, but I suspect Firebug's... I'm developing a private site so cannot link to examples, but here is what happens:
Since using Firefox 3.5 and Firebug versions 1.4.0b3->1.4.0b5 and the alphas as well, I am finding that onSuccess/onComplete handlers randomly do not fire when XHR completes and the Firebug console is open. With the console closed, the handlers fire 100% of the time. With the console open, they occasionally do not fire (I can replicate certain sequences that *never* fire). I can always view the complete responses (which are JSON) in the console. This behaviour also occurs in a brand-new Firefox profile with *only* the Firebug extension installed. Windows XP.
