But you need do this only one time per site. If that fails for you,
use 1.4.3b1, http://getfirebug.com/releases.

No. Since Firebug is not active it can't help you activate itself.
Plus in general web pages can only communicate with firefox extensions
once the user takes an action to allow it. Otherwise the browser can
be compromised by web applications.
