I did some thinking over this problem, when I was looking at the Firebug 3.5b1 user interface a couple of days ago. I wrote the following paragraph in my diary: I think Firebug should show a yellow warning icon (/!\) next to the debugger controls (step icons) if the script panel was disabled during load. Then it is easy to spot the problem. Tooltip could show "Script Panel was inactive during page load" and a click on the icon could reload the page and make the icon go away. Well... Just an idea.
