I never even considered using contenteditable even though I have worked with it a lot ... that would actually be very cool and simple to implement. It would be very, very simple to add a "Live Edit" button next to our current 'Edit' button on the fbug toolbar to toggle this option on and off. The power of live edit in combination with FireDiff would be amazing.
