Thanks for the response!
I have reloaded the page multiple times after opening Firebug -
including trying a new instance of Firefox/Firebug.
I installed 1.5.3 yesterday, along with the Rainbow extension.
Here's is my simple js code (my_code.js) :
/* ================================================== */
var $ = function (id) {
return document.getElementByID(id);
}
var accept = $("accept").checked;
If ( accept ) {
alert("Thank you. You may enter.");
} else {
alert("You accept first.");
}
/* ================================================== */
And here's my script definition in index.html:
<! ==================================================>
<head>
<title>My Code Tester</title>
<script type="text/javascript" src="my_code.js"></script>
</head>
<! ==================================================>
