Sorry, I don't have an iPad to test, but other users have confirmed in the past that it works on it (at least, it was working).
If we work together maybe we can detect what is the source of the problem and then I'll be able to fix the problem. If you visit http://getfirebug.com/firebuglite it also crashes your browser?
