Hi Alex,

it's not that clear for me what you mean, but maybe the HTML panel's
options can help you. To open the options mini menu click on the arrow
besides the HTML tab. There you have two options, that might cause
this behavior: "Expand Changes" and "Scroll Changes Into View".
You didn't write which version of Firebug you're using, but if the tip
above doesn't help, please try out the latest beta of 1.6 from
http://getfirebug.com/releases/firebug/1.6X/
