I guess you have Firebug open in a window outside of the browser frame and that you have not reloaded the page. Then you have issue 3886 http://code.google.com/p/fbug/issues/detail?id=3886
This one is fixed in Firebug 1.7a8, please try it and let us know. The workaround for 1.6.1 is to reload the page.
