When upgrading my Firefox from 3.x to 4.0.1, it wasn't able to upgrade Firebug. In the extensions.log file I got this error:
2011-01-05 15:19:29 - ExtensionManager:_finishOperations - failure, catching exception - lineno: 1596 - file: undefined - [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIFile.moveTo]" nsresult: "0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: file:///c:/program%20files/Mozilla%20Firefox/components/nsExtensionManager.js :: moveFile :: line 1596" data: no] I don't know if this is due to the wierd security settings my company insist on but there you are. The good news is that if you browse to http://getfirebug.com/releases/firebug/1.7/ and just click on the xpi file it all installs fine (well, after clicking "OK" to innumerable "OMG downloaded stuff might be nasty" messages!) Just thought you might like to know!! -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Firebug" group. To post to this group, send email to [email protected].
