I have this problem with several programs... and I attribute it to the
driver rather than the application.  My "test" is to take Freecell
(the game) and drag it to the DVI window.  If it crashes, I know I'm
on a DVI driver that's, let's say, not fully robust.  I'm not sure how
much of the Hardware acceleration control is available via the USB
driver interface, likely varying from manufacturer to manufacturer.

Bottom line, I doubt it's a Firebug issue... but would love to hear
from others.
