I'm using Firebug 1.7.3 and it doesn't seem to be showing me any JavaScript format errors. if I purposely take out a brace, for example, I don't see any warning from Firebug. It seems like this sort of thing used to be shown in the Firebug Status bar, but apparently the Status bar was abandoned.
