For the purpose of hiding adverts etc. I'd better suggest you use Adblock Plus <https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/> instead. Firebug is a web developer tool. So if you really want to have this feature in Firebug, you should explain why this would be an advantage for web developers.
