Okay, I just asked if it isn't a known behavior. Obviously, it isn't. I finally tracked it down to be a conflict of Firebug, WOT and SplitWindow addons. SplitWindow is no more developed, but there is a similar addon FoxSplitter, so I switched to use this one and everything is ok. Great!
