Firefox just automatically upgraded Firebug to 1.9.2 and the issue still exists. If I hover over an invisible element (like one that has display: none) then hover over a visible element in any reasonable amount of time, the element highlights in the view then unhighlights.
You can check it here: http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=13 Find div mainoutsideBlock then hover over the invisible div placeAdDropdown then hover over mainoutsideBlock.
