I never used XPath expressions on IE either but I already linked the 
functions to the appropriate sites.
Also asking aunt Google I get this:

According to several resources on the net it seems XPath expressions in IE 
are limited to XML documents, i.e. you can't use the functions on HTML 
documents, which makes this useless for most use cases.
