There are already two extensions that allow this for CSS files: FireFile<https://getfirebug.com/wiki/index.php/Firebug_Extensions#FireFile>and cssUpdater<https://getfirebug.com/wiki/index.php/Firebug_Extensions#cssUpdater> .
