It doesn't sound like something that is caused by Firebug. Please make sure 
you don't have any other extension installed that influences the network 
requests.
I.e. you should disable all extensions except Firebug. If that fixes your 
problem, you can enable them again one by one to see which one is causing 
it. Does that help?
