Thanks for the tip about disabling the 'script' panel of Firebug. Before that change, opening Firebug or switching back to a tab with Firebug open was triggering a *** 60+ second *** Firefox hang with CPU nearly maxed. (FF/25, MacOS, 2.5Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo) After disabling the script panel, opening Firebug or returning to a tab with it open is nearly instant.
