It seems the editor doesn't fill the height of the panel. Could you mention the version of Firefox you are using? Also Make sure there isn't any conflict with another extension installed on Firefox. To do so Please upgrade your Firefox to the last version released, then create a clean profile<http://getfirebug.com/wiki/index.php/Install_Firebug_into_a_clean_profile#How_to_install_Firebug_into_a_clean_profile.3F>to install Firebug on.
