The Firebug team have fixed that, but I never saw it. I run another extension called checkCompatibility: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/checkcompatibility/ It turns off the compatibility checks, and lets me install extensions regardless. If they don't, I can always uninstall them. but most do.
