I second the motion!! The full version of Firebug for Chrome should be implemented given the fact that Chrome just passed FF in market share. Possibly in the near future Firefox's installed base will be minuscule, and the only way to for developers to use the full FB will be to have a prerequisite installation of FF.
I understand that the resources are lacking. But perhaps you can offer FB as a *paid *app for Chrome to support it's continued development on this browser. I, and certainly countless other devs and designers, are probably more than willing to pay for a full implementation of FB for Crhome.
