perhaps *NIX has had a long list of security holes that have been patched whereas NT has had a long list of Security holes that has not been patched. Also obscurity is not a real method of securing the os and has fractured the impression of nt to many security admins. Also nt is the only system that i am aware of the you press start to shut down the system;')) TCO is also alot higher than the unix variant and the pool of knowledge beyond marketing hype is much stronger on the *nix end of the equation.
