Good Evening All,

I have been watching this list for about a month or so now. It appears that there is
a lot of opitions here. So I guess that will help me
answer this question. I am in need of a firewall, I am thinking about 3 products.
One is a software solution (t-Rex) is the one I can
remember looking at recently. The other is a hardware solution, I have looked at a
lot of these. The first one is one called SonicWall DMZ,
it appears to be OK. The other is the 3com Officeconnect DMZ. Both are about the
same price, this will be on a linux and Sun configuration.

I have heard many different points on this, one is that a hardware is always the best
way to go. The other is a software or us IPchains.
It sounds like IPchains is a proxy of sort.

One last option is from a copy called Coblat, they make something called the cube2.
It is suppose to have a firewall built in. It is a turn
key solution. I am going to buy one of their rack servers for a different purpose.

I am new to all this so please be nice...
