The point indicated by Volker Tanger is an important one.. i.e. the last
sentence of the Network Computing review.
Automated Vulnerability scanners, whilst being usefull for shorthand, a
quick look, are not terribly clever. They are certainly not as clever as
the guy who might be trying to hack into your network (except for script
kiddies of course who are about as clever as a scanner, duh) , or a well
trained Penetration Testing Team. Of course some scanner are better than
others ( and cheeper), and Nessus is probably a good one to look at. The
latest version of Whisker is certainly worth a look too.
However, if you want some level of assurance that will enable you to
sleep at night then I would advise that you find yourself a good
penetration Testing Team.
