I am currently developing a product that will be used via the
internet. I am interested to know if there are any resources of which you
are aware that detail statistics on number / percentage of firewalls that
are allowing certain protocols through. I am specifically interested in IRC
and NNTP. I am trying to make a case for developing http versions of
interactive services and not using IRC / NNTP.
Additionally it would be great if I could get a straw poll from the list.
I would be most grateful if you could answer the following questions.
1. Do you allow any IRC access through your firewall
2. Do you allow users to access external NNTP servers directly
