Hello List Members,

I am new to this list, and a novice when it comes to firewalls. I am in
the beginning stages of developing a TCP/IP client-server
database application for a meduim-sized client with several LANs whose
users must have access to this application. Since the LANs are behind
firewalls, there is little chance that I can simply install the client
software and have them connect to the server. Obviously, the firewall
will have to be modified to allow this traffic. The admins (who I have
yet to meet) will likely bridle at this. Assuming they are running
something like Raptor and a packet filter, what are the most legitimate
ways to allow my traffic? I'm thinking of a proxy, but that probably
won't address their concerns

Thanks in advance for your help.
