Kafil,
You have several options:
1. Site to Site VPN
This would require to setup a BorderManager Server at both sides of the traffic (one
at the HR segment, the other in the server backbone segment). All traffic between the
segments could be encrypted.
2. Client to Site VPN
Probably more elegant is to use BorderManager's Client VPN, which currently runs on
Win95/98 in the Dial-Up only. An updated version of the VPN Client which will support
both Win95/88 and WinNT in Dial-Up and LAN environments is available in public beta
(ship date will be 30. June, but it's working fine already).
Here you will install one BorderManager in the HR Server's segment (or on that server
itself) plus the VPN Client on all workstations in the HR department. You can
configure through NWAdmin which ip networks have to encrypted. Here you just add the
HR Server's ipaddress or entire segment.
3. SOCKS
You can install a SOCKS Server in the HR Server segment and install a SOCKS Client to
the workstations in the HR segment. The server can be a BorderManager (which comes
with a SOCKSv5 Server) or any other 3rd-party SOCKS Server. On the client side I
recommend to look at Aventail's socks client, which can work with BorderManager's or
any other vendor's socks server. This socks client is using SSL to encrypt the traffic.

Hello Every-one,
I am not sure if this is the right list to post this on but people here
certainly seem to have pretty good idea on general security stuff.
We are looking for a product to encrypt data on a Novell Netware 5 server.
Lan Crypt from Utimaco has been tested but it conflicts with the virus scan
software and has some issues on Novell.
Any one out there used / tested any other products or know of any useful
sites to start looking?
The encryption is required for a HR unit.
Thanks,
Kafil.
