What Larry says here is exactly how I set up my split DNS service. The DNS
I am using is Microsoft's NT 4 version. If you are planning to run this be
sure to use SP4 since the forwarders entry mysteriously disappears in the
earlier SP's.

set up a master on your internal network that all your internal
machines
will point to as the DNS master for the domain. This DNS master
will be
set up with the slave and fowarders lines to forward DNS queries
( for information that it doesn't have ) to your DNS server that
is
exposed to the 'Net.
