NePED is "VERY USEFUL" for any TCP/IP administrator, and is very easy to

when you execute "neped" the program will inform of all the equipments
connected to our local net with and ethernet card in promiscuous mode.

The technique used is very simple. Is just sending a simple ARP request
for
each IP in  our network, but the packets are not broadcasted, but sent
to
an arbitrary address (any that doesn't exist). Only the machines with
the
promiscuous mode card will be able to see those packets, and therefore
will
be the only ones to answer"
