Hi all,
For the past three days I've been getting hits on my firewall from a
particular overseas site. They don't look especially malicious to me
(mostly from and to ports in the 5xxxx and 6xxxx range). The ports
aren't sequential, so I'm assuming it's not a port scan. It is irritating
and filling my logs, so I'd like to put a stop to it.
My question: Who do I send my inquiry to on the other end?
Postmaster? It would seem to be the only universal address. Is there
a quasi-standard acceptable way to say "What the #@!! are you
people trying to do to my firewall?" After all, it *could* be an honest
mistake and I don't wish to appear overly accusatory.
In this case, my efforts may be futile (Do they speak English?), but
this sort of thing occurs fairly often and I'd like to develop a procedure
for dealing with it. (Gad! I sound like a manager!)
Cheers,
Lyn
