i would agree but many admins are still used to m$ ! linux hence they
tend to choose what they have a comfort level with.. IMHO linux is far
far superior and always enjoyable to walk into a site with my handy
/dev/fd0u1722 superformatted floppy in a pinch to demonstrate just how
more secure, powerful, and fast linux is ..hey even on a mere floppy!:-))
as some try to defend the undefendable i explain such things as TCO
&& the merits of running entirely in ram.. with encrypted access i might add!

it is definately the choice for those seeking enlightenment;-? or
a really Kool Desktop :-) && aspiring Window Makers;-))> but i have
found it depends on who is buying whether they are even interested as
our site contacts are ! often the ones making the buying decisions

the one thing the nt does better than linux at this point is marketing
the product and bringing the system to the hearts and minds of joe
average if there is such a person. here we are still in the learning
phase. but i predict and have noticed much more movement to the good
side of the force recently due to the Melissas and y2k as people are
starting to want to hedge there bets. DOJ helps as well so with any
luck the linux world will be there to pick up the pieces:-) that is
as long as we don't spend too much time bickering amongst ourselves
and instead bring the lions share to the fold per se..
