I was just thinking about the IP scheme and the configuration that we are
planning and I wondered if I could get some quick input.

I want to set up a Proxy server behind a firewall. The limitations: this
site has had an app proxy firewall for a couple years, so we are aiming to
setup the http proxy to have the same address as the old firewall. ONce I
started thinking about the IP's I wondered how you make the proxy work
like this. Let me try to draw this out:

                      1.2.3.4
                        FW
                      2.2.3.4
                     / \
Proxy \ Telnet, ftp, smtp, etc.
               2.2.3.5 \
                     \ \
                http, \ \
                https Internal Network

Here is where I am not totally sure after thinking about it. Can the
proxy server have just one NIC (then how does it proxy?) or do I have to
subnet the firewall from my Proxy server and put two NIC's in it?

I feel like an idio for asking this, but I am just not totally sure how to
configure it.

Thank you
