Agreed that FWs will run anything you want.  I am talking about what is
needed for firewalling, what services could be provided by a FW.  Shares
well you do not need shares on a firewall and obviously shares could be a
threat to security.  I do not believe that the DNS running on the FW setup
as caching-only nameserver is a threat. It provides services to the secure
network but do not provide any info to the outside, that's what I was
assuming he was doing with the DNS just to answer your question!
