RE: Safe way to IRC

I work for an ISP. I am quite new at this.
One of my projects is to setup a  proxy for IRC. Now, I can't tell me boss
that our clients don't need to use it, coz we have dialup customers in
addition to corporate ones. What safe and secure solution would you
recommend I implement at my end?
