Hi all,
We are using the Altavista Firewall 98 and Tunnel 98 for the protection and
access of our company. But we have run into some problems. A lot of the
people using the Altavista Tunnel Client software on PC's running Windows 95
have experinced blue-screens when starting the Tunnel software. When they
finally get acccess through the Tunnel server, they are often unable to
download mails from our mailserver (alphaserver 800, DU4.0E, running a
pop-mailserver, clients: Outlook 98) especially mails with attachements,
which again causes blue-screens on the PC. This time the PC's need to be
rebooted.
I am running 5 Alphaserver 800 located worldwide with the Altavista Firewall
and Tunnel 98 software, so this is beginning to be a serious problem. I have
furtheremore observed that the internal LAN seems slower with the
Alphaserver in place compared to earlier where we just had a MS Proxy, has
anybody had similar expirences ?
I have contacted Compaq on these issues but they do not have any solutions
at the present time.
