There is one possibility. Back in the old days when I worked on bus-type
lans w/10baset nics (yes it's as bad as it sounds) I had to make
terminators for the ends of the chain & to test nics. I can't find any in
my junk box right now, but if you want to experiment any good reference
book should give you the resistance & pinout. It's also good for shutting
down computers that have nics but aren't connected to a lan (otherwise
you'll wait forever for windows to close out).
