Hi, I have seen a lot of firewalls which have time-based access restriction for each of the rules in the Access-Control List. Now, supposed that, in one of the rules, I allow FTP access from Host H1(internal) to H2(on internet) only between 3pm-3:30pm everyday. Suppose I start an FTP session from H1 to H2 at 3:29pm. Will the session be aborted at 3:31pm? Or that, this time-bound access is applicable only at the start of the session. Can I please know how do firewalls normally behave? And if I buy each kind of them, what are the advantages and disadvantages. Well, I am sure this is a very trivial issue but, dont wanna take chances. Thanks in advance.
