You don't want the version from 6.0, you want a new one from
updates.redhat.com. Or just download the source from www.isc.org and
build it yourself, it's a clean compile on Linux these days. 8.2.2PL3 or
better for exploits, 8.2.2PL5 if you want everything up to date. If
that's not the version string you see, then you've got an exploitable BIND.
To see what version is running, run the following commands from a shell
prompt (don't type in the prompt characters):
$ nslookup - 127.0.0.1

Add a second server, or use lbnamed. You can play failover tricks with
multiple servers, load sharing requires other things, so use lbnamed if
it's really necessary, or point half the clients at one as a primary and
half at the other and alternate the secondaries.

Add them at equal MX values, and tell BIND to round-robin MX's. For
outgoing mail, round robin their addresses to the outgoing MX's name.

DNS help can be found at Acme Byte and Wire, I think the site is
acmebw.com, but a search on "Acme Byte and Wire" or the training link off
of the ISC site will get you there, look for "Ask Mr. DNS."
