ANS was acquired by AOL, who sold us to Worldcom, in partial exchange for
a piece of Compuserve.  Worldcom also owned UUNET, and basically rolled 
part of ANS into UUNET, and part into the leftovers of Compuserve
(CNS).  The latter was also rolled into UUNET, so for all purposes, ANS
no longer exists.

That being said, the Interlock is still supported by UUNET, I believe,
as part of the Intermanage service.  These days I think they push Checkpoint
though.

Interlock started out on AIX and was later moved to Solaris.  I never admin'd
our firewall so I can't comment on usability, but it was a stable product.
