RE: MS PPTP (Safe?) - alternative?

My favorite alternative is VTCP/Secure from Infoexpress.

Uses 3DES encryption, clients run on Windows, MacOS,
Linux, Solaris/Sparc.  Gateway runs on a wider variety,
including NT.

The Windows client supports nearly all protocols save ICMP.
That includes the Windows browsing and filesharing functions.

It doesn't quite approach the price for PPTP from MS, but
I think the cost is reasonable.
