We have an EFFNET firewall running (it as 200 LAN users behind it). I do
not know what model it is, but it has at least 3 fast ethernet interfaces.
I have put around 60-70mbits of data thru it (single TCP streams) but that
was probably I/O limitations at the endpoints that limited the amount of
data (it was an ftp transfer). It routinely handles 10-15 megabit of PAT
traffic (customers only have 10mbit so it usually doesnt get anymore than
that).
The NAT/PAT has a bit to go, but if you just need a highspeed firewall
then it's ok. It has a web interface I dont really like though but that's
ok for us since our config is very simple.
EFFNET claim that it should handle approx 300mbits of traffic and I have
no reason do doubt that (might be another model than we have currently
though).
Try to evaluate it before you deploy it, it might lack some features you
need (since it's a pretty new product, they're not done with all
features).
