PORT NUMBERS
The port numbers are divided into three ranges: the Well Known Ports,
the Registered Ports, and the Dynamic and/or Private Ports.
The Well Known Ports are those from 0 through 1023.
The Registered Ports are those from 1024 through 49151
The Dynamic and/or Private Ports are those from 49152 through 65535
Keeping this in mind you know port 8080 is a registered known port, meaning
it's exposed to attacks. However, this port is not commonly used for Trojans
or nukes attacks. Nevertheless, I suggest the monitoring of TCP and UDP
actives

Subject: Open port range? yes or no
Hello
The programmers in my company have asked me to open port 8080 plus the range
of ports from 8751 through 8770 from the Internet to one of their Linux boxs
for testing. What are some of the hazzards I should be concerned with?
Thanks for your response.
Tom
