Hi,

>From lurking on this list I get the impression folks prefer ipfilter on a
BSD derived os over ipchains on a Linux os.

Any preferences regarding which BSD os: FreeBSD, NetBSD, or OpenBSD?

I've done a few Linux flavors, but no BSD. I've heard that Linux 2.4 is
switching to something called netfilter. Any opinions on that?

Our current production firewall is a Checkpoint FW-1 running on x86 Solaris.
So I'd like to make my test firewall a dual boot Solaris/xxxxBSD box to ease
the migration, assuming all goes well.
